I worked with Jay at Weldor's Supply House. He was a good friend. He will be greatly missed. He always showed interest in whatever you were involved in. When he would enter a room he brought a ray of sunshine with him. My prayers are with your family. Hoping the knowledge that he made a difference in the lives of all the people he met will sustain you til you meet with him again.

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with Jay. Every occasion I had to interact with him was a positive one that left me feeling better than before. He was such a warm, funny person with a kind heart. I will remember him always and miss him when I do.

My sympathy to all of Jay's Family. I worked with Jay at Tate Metalworks. Receiving that phone call that morning was very hard on me. I didn't want to believe it was true . It just didn't seem possible. I have to say he was a true friend. Jay would have done anything for anyone. He had a heart of gold. He and I were always laughing and joking with each other. Jay you are going to be missed deeply my fried. Rest in peace.

Our hearts are so heavy right now. Our condolences go out to the family. Jay was a great friend and neighbor. We loved him so much. He was like a second dad to me and my husband. He would come by our house and aggravate my dog and jokingly tell us he was going to call animal control and tell them that we was mistreating our dog and that he would take him. I said yeah right, then he would laugh. Oh how I am going to miss that laugh! Sometimes, before he left, he would give me a kiss on my cheek. He always gave my husband a hard time. He was such a great man. I don't think he ever met a stranger. So kind hearted and loving. RIP Jay, forever in our hearts.

Jay--we had some tough summer days in our youth working for our fathers at Ringland Johnson Construction. But, more importantly we had lots of laughs and good times! It is sad you left us all too early. Thanks for being my friend back then. Wish I had seen you more recently. Rest in PEACE jay.

I was a classmate of Jay's at Clinton High School. I remember him as a very kind person who always had a smile on his face. Although I had not seen Jay in many, many years, I will always have good memories of a person I consider to be friend.

Daddy, telling you goodbye will be one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. You were always my protector, when my attitude got me in trouble you were always there to smooth it over. A piece of you will always be with me in my eyes and personality. Nothing will be ever be the same without you there making me smile. All the good memories may be enough to get me by but it will never be enough. There are so many things I wanted to do with you. I know I will live differently now, I will always do what I wish I could do; life is too short not to. Fifty six years was not enough, even though every minute spent with you was precious, we had so many plans for the future. I know your by my side, but the world is going to be so lonely now. You always helped us with mama and to hear how much she loved you breaks my heart. You two were the best parents a girl could as for, you taught me to be strong, confident, and most of all kind. My baby misses her papa Jay. You will always live on through us. We hope to see you soon, save a place for us. We love you so much but we know we told you often. Alanna said she remembers that was her last words to you. I remember hugging you three times because we never stopped talking. I miss you so much already. I know you are a handsome angel now. Please keep a close eye on us, you know how much we needed you. * Jilly

This world was a brighter and happier place because of Jay. His smile, laughter, and passion for life touched many people, more than he ever even realized. Even though it had been years, I always considered him a friend and thought of him often. I'm sorry for your family's loss as I know he will be missed so much! I do believe you now have one of the best guardian angels ever. Prayers for peace and understanding for you and all who loved him and hopes that happy memories soon replace the pain in your heart.
