In 1910 M.W. Bobo SR. came to Spartanburg and opened the M.W. Bobo Funeral Chapel, and in 1935 relocated to the historic East Main Street location. In 1986 the business was sold to longtime friends and colleagues, the Petty Family of Landrum, SC, fourth generation licensed funeral directors who also own and operate The Petty Funeral Home there, since 1914.

In 2000 a new, spacious, modern facility was built on Cannons Campground Road, Located off East Main Street.

The Bobo Funeral Chapel operating as the Petty-Bobo Company continues to serve Spartanburg and surrounding areas for 100 years as a full service location offering funerals, cremation services, pre-need arrangements and competitive prices. Throughout the years our commitment to quality and dedication to the families we serve have never changed.
