Madge G. Godfrey

WOODRUFF, SC:   Talmadge “Madge” Groce Godfrey, 76, of Woodruff Manor died April 24, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center.   She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Ruby Groce Varner.

Mrs. Godfrey was a member of Powell Mill Presbyterian Church and retired from Butte Knit.  She was a strong, determined lady who enjoyed dancing, liked Bingo, and especially liked the church services at Woodruff Manor.

She is survived by a son, Darrell Ray Godfrey of Spartanburg; two daughters, Billie G. Jones of Spartanburg and Tracie G. Phillips (Tony) of Inman; her former husband and friend, Billy Godfrey; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Temple Independent Church officiated by Pastor Rex Keaton.
