SPARTANBURG, SC: Ruby Wood Bradley Varner, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 29, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Lewis J. and Dora Banks Wood and widow of the late Harold P. Varner and her first husband, the late John H. Bradley.
She was a devout Christian and a member of Beaver Hills Baptist Church. She retired from Beaumont and Whitney Yarn Mills after 45 years of service. She later worked at Krispy Kreme Donut Shop for 6 years. She was a long-time resident of Hampton Heights since 1969.
Surviving are her son, James Stanley (Stan) Bradley, Becky McAbee of Spartanburg; two daughters, Lynne B. Lewis and husband, Ray of Campobello and Janice B. Moon of Chesnee. She was grandmother to 7 grandchildren: Stan Bradley, Jr., Cynthia B. Chandler, Chad Bradley, Lisa L. Brown, Jamie M. Merrill, Jeff Moon, and Kenneth Bradley; 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and her loving cat, Molly. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by brothers, James and Boyce Wood and sisters, Annie Mae W. Reynolds, Louise W. Daniel and Dorothy W. Hamrick; son-in-law, Bill Moon and 1 great-grandchild, Logan B. Chandler.
Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Bobo Funeral Chapel followed by services at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Fred Quidley. Burial will be in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 3119 Highway 56, Pauline, SC 29374.
The families will be at their respective homes.
