Martha Lou Waller

PAULINE, SC:   Martha Lou W. Waller, 82, widow of Joe L. Waller, Sr., on bended knee reached forth to grasp the hand of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 27, 2017.  Born in Salisbury, NC, August 1, 1934, she was the younger daughter of the late Robert L. Waller and Bessie O’Dell Waller.  She was also predeceased by a sister, Bobbie June and a brother, Jake.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Jo Phillips, Joe Lee Waller, Jr. (Cindy) and Susan Margaret Gochenour; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Lou graduated from Boyden High School Class of ’52, Kings College with her degree in accounting, and Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Respiratory Therapy.  She retired after 40 years in Physician Practice Management and Medical Billing supervision.  While living in California she served a number of years as moderator of the Board of Deacons in the Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC. 

Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Southside Baptist Church, with Dr. Schuyler Peterson and Dr. Bobby Pettit officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 316 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC, 29306.
