Genelle Trent Bible
SPARTANBURG, SC: Myrtle Genelle Trent Bible, 87, passed away May 7, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. She was the widow of John Edward Bible, Jr. and daughter of the late Sam and Ina Emory Trent.
Genelle graduated from Cowpens High School, Columbia Business College, and retired after 35 years as a secretary at Milliken & Co. She was a member of Clifton First Baptist Church where she served as WMU Director, Sunday School teacher, Church Secretary, Choir member, and GA Director. She formerly sang with the Clifton Five and Shade Tree Singers, was a volunteer at SRMC, and a member of Eastern Star Ora Chapter #153. Genelle had a gentleness of heart, loved her family, friends, church, and enjoyed visiting with neighboring church groups always carrying with her an endearing smile and an eagerness to visit with those she encountered.
She is survived by two daughters, Denise B. Whitesell of Garden City, SC and Kim B. Long (Lance) of Spartanburg; three grandsons, Cole Senn (Gloria) of Danvers, MA, Ian and Joshua Long of Spartanburg; seven granddaughters, Brooke Senn of Cayce, SC, Megan Long of Charlotte, NC, Kinsey L. Stephens of Bronx, NY, Hannah, Micah, Chloe, and Israel Long all of Spartanburg; two great-grandsons, Ethan Senn and Jacob Stephens; two great-granddaughters, Seanna Grace Senn and Addison Ruth Stephens. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lloyd and Tillman Trent and a great-grandson, James Stephens.
Visitation will be 1:30-3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, at Bobo Funeral Chapel followed by the service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Harris and Rev. Keith Davis officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
