Gary Julian

Spartanburg, SC:   Gary Leon Julian, 63, husband of the late Carolyn Poole Burgess, died Friday, September 30, 2016.  He was the son of Marguerite Keeble J. Heffner and the late James Willard Julian.

            Mr. Julian was a self-employed mechanic.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served with the U.S. Navy earning the National Defense Service Medal and rank of BTFA.

            Survivors include two sons, Travis Julian of Houston, TX and James Julian and his wife, Tiffany, of Greenville, TN; two brothers, Michael Julian and his wife, Lynn, of Miami, FL and Jeff Julian and his wife, Janice, of Grand Bay, AL; two sisters, Janet J. Heath of Davy, W.Va. and Becky J. Mullins of Gary, W. Va.; seven grandchildren; special friends and caregivers, Roy and Dixie Poole of Spartanburg;  and other friends, Paul Millwood, John Brown, Buster Emory, Frankie Smith and Preston Richardson.  He was predeceased by a son, Jimmy John Julian and two sisters, Sharon Julian and Susan J. Heaton.

            Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, at Bobo Funeral Chapel followed by services at 2:00 p.m. with Wesley Crowe officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow in Poole’s Bend Cemetery.
