William Earl Kidwell

William Earl Kidwell, 80, of Cowpens, SC, passed away peacefully at his home on March 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 24, 1944, in Middleton, OH, William graduated from Franklin High School in 1962. He proudly served his country, first in the Air Force Reserves for six years and later in the National Guard for nearly four years.

He retired from Hoeschst Celanese after a dedicated career and later worked with a BMW supplier, where he continued to apply his skills and strong work ethic.

A man of faith, William was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC. He had a deep love for gardening and took great pride in caring for his lawn. His artistic talent was evident in his drawings, and he had a natural gift for bringing humor and joy to those around him.

William was a devoted family man and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Beverly Joan Kidwell; his son, William Brian Kidwell (Lisa); his grandchildren, Christopher Smith (Kristin), Beverly Reese Kidwell, and Ethan Kidwell; and his three great-granddaughters, Addelynn, Skyla, and Annelise Smith. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Etta Kerby Kidwell, as well as his brother, Gene Kidwell.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Bobo Funeral Chapel on Cannons Campground Road in Spartanburg, SC, with the Reverend Sal Barone officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM.

William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. His kindness, humor, and love will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
