William Thomas “Tommy” Hopper, Jr.
Mayo, SC: William Thomas “Tommy” Hopper, Jr., 78, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Born April 17, 1942, he was the husband of Rachel Ann Hopper and the son of the late William Thomas Hopper, Sr. and Eva Garner Hopper.
Tommy was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 48, Chesnee. He was also a Shriner and a Mason. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were the apples of his eyes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tammie Blackwood and Teresa Spires (J.T.); a stepson Kevin Westbrook (Vicki); two stepdaughters Rhonda Alverson (Bryan) and Denise Martz (David); eleven grandchildren, Carrie Pennington, Will Spires, Kalen Fletcher (Blake), Autumn Owens (Trevor), Karmen Alverson, Jenni Lail (Ashton), Paola Martz, Jonathan Martz, J.P. Martz, Harley Westbrook, and Tricia Blackwood; three great grandsons, Brayden Alexander, Braxton Wiley, and Brooks Fletcher; two brothers, Kenny Hopper (Marcia) and David Hopper; and three sisters Sandra Little (Rick), Laura Ruppe (Rocky), and Linda Bradley (Steve). He was predeceased by an infant son, a stepson Darren Westbrook, and a son-in-law Michael Blackwood, Jr.
Visitation will be 11:00am – 12:00pm, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 12:00pm officiated by Rev. Michael Boyter, Rev. Fred Quidley and Pastor Bryan Alverson. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
