William Cleveland Cash, Sr.

COWPENS, SC:   William Cleveland Cash, Sr., 85, widower of Marlin Mullinax Cash passed away January 22, 2018.    Born May 23, 1932 in Cowpens, he was a son of the late Judd Lee Cash and Frances Gossett Cash.

Mr. Cash was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and loved his church and Sunday School class.  He began working in textiles at the Clifton Mills, then at Converse and Monsanto, and later Michelin where he retired as a warehouse supervisor.  His other livelihood was farming and livestock.   He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by a son, William Cleveland Cash, Jr. of Cowpens; a brother, Bobby Dean Cash and wife, Joyce, of Spartanburg; sisters, Carolyn C. Thompson and husband, Alton, of Boiling Springs, Marlyn C. Henderson of Chesnee, and Brenda C. Heatherly of Cowpens; a grandson, Justin William Cash and his mother, Anna Cash of Spartanburg; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Hillard and James Cash, and two sisters, Doris C. Cantrell and Carnell C. Bishop.

Services will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Dennis Spencer, Rev. James Armstrong, and Dr. Robert Kirby.  Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.   Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. before the service.
