Warren John Sanders
Warren John Sanders passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025 after battling a long illness.
Born on April 17, 1948, John was a Spartanburg native. After graduating from Dorman High School, he went on to study at Limestone College and received a Master’s in Education at Converse College.
A lifelong educator, John taught special education at Spartanburg County Public Schools for many years. His teaching went beyond the classroom, being a certified driving instructor and concealed weapon instructor.
John’s passion was in the Boy Scouts. As a youth, John made it to the Life rank, one rank below Eagle. As an adult, he was a Scoutmaster for a local troop and staff member, including as Program Director, at Camp Palmetto. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow, the official honor society for Scouting America. He was awarded the Founder’s Award and the Silver Beaver Award for his years of service.
John is survived by his sister Kathy Willson (Tom), nephews Andrew (Sabrina) and Michael Willson, niece Sarah Willson (Jimmy} great niece Danica Matta, and great nephews Julian and Joseph Le.
He was 77 years old.
