Boiling Springs, SC: Walter “Bud” Riley, 84, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021. Bud is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane Hyder Riley of the home. Bud was the son of the late Robert & Nettie Crowder Riley.
Bud was a member of Drayton Baptist Church. He was retired from Spartanburg Water System. After retiring, he worked as a bailiff with Spartanburg County, and most recently he worked several years with the Petty-Bobo Funeral Chapel. He was a graduate of Cowpens High School.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Karen R. Martin (Don) of Destin, FL, and Donna R. Lancaster (David) of Chesnee, SC; grandchildren Ashley Brooke Parrish, Dustin J. Smith, Jack H. and Jacob C. Martin, David Lancaster II, MD (Jennifer), and Brittany Brown (Kyle); great grandchildren Karson Riley Parrish, Hayden, Luke and Ben Lancaster, and Addison and Easton Brown; Sisters Dorothy Nelson and Nettie Sue Riley; a brother Raymond Riley; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Lucille Riley and Ruby Murph; and brothers, Willard, Leroy, James and Robert, Jr. Riley.
Visitation will be 12:00pm-1:30pm, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Bobo Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:30pm conducted by Rev. David Frost and Rev. Charlie Sams. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, escorted by The Shop of Spartanburg.
