Robert “Bob” Carol Cudd, born January 17, 1947, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on February 2, 2026 at his home in Woodruff, surrounded by his loved ones.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg County and a proud native of the community he called home his entire life. He was the son of the late James Clyde Cudd and Mattie Virginia Outz Cudd, and was preceded in death by his brother, James Elzie Cudd (Kathleen).
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Sondra Turner Cudd. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Robert Carol Cudd, Jr. of Mascot, Tennessee, and Thomas Brian Peahuff (Amy) of Woodruff, South Carolina; and to his three daughters, Rebecca “Chris” Christine Eller of Greer, South Carolina, Kara Peahuff Taylor (Jason) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Virginia “Gina” Leigh Taylor of Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and a great-grandfather to one great-grandchild.
After graduating from Spartanburg High School in 1965, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably from 1966 to 1970. Following his military service, Bob worked and retired from Petroleum Distributors, Inc. where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
As Bob’s health declined over the past two months, he required around-the-clock medical care. The family would like to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to his granddaughter and best friend, Sydnee Leigh Bradley, who moved into the home to help care for him. The love, compassion, and devotion she showed Bob during this time will never be forgotten.
In honoring Bob’s wishes, the family will not hold a formal service. The family will be at the home of Bob and Sondra, 195 Conamara Lane, Woodruff, SC 29388.
