Richard "Dickie" Seay Obituary

Richard “Dickie” Dexter Seay, 81, of Spartanburg, passed away on January 23, 2025.  He was the husband of Nancy White Seay and the son of the late Joseph Thomas and Nancy Jeanette Cooksey Seay.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Dickie was a funny and loved man, who loved all animals.  He retired after many years in law enforcement with the Spartanburg County Sheriffs Office and the Coroner’s Office.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #70 and was a Shriner.  He was a most beloved husband, father and papa.

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his daughters, Ashley Pettit (Tony) and Charlotte Guyton (Donnie); grandchildren, Chandler and Chase Pettit, Madison Coleman, Balie Berggrun and Mason Guyton; six great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph “Billy” Seay.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 2:00 – 3:00PM at Bobo Funeral Chapel with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 3:00PM conducted by Sheriff Chuck Wright, Coroner Rusty Clevenger and Sergeant John Parris.  Funeral Honors will follow, conducted by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Honor Guard.
