Richard Charles Craver of Spartanburg, SC, formally of Ewing, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 7, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was the son of the late Richard Clarence and Edith Irene Jolly. He was the husband of Elizabeth Skwarek for the past 17 years.
Rich proudly served as a weapons mechanic Sargent in the USAF for 4 years in Vietnam. After his service, he spent much of his career in the Aerospace industry as an Equipment and Facilities Manager. He had many hobbies including drinking Diet Coke, reading, photography and playing guitar. Rich was an avid traveler, especially with trips to the Caribbean and beach locations. He would base his vacation success on how many books he was able to read on the beach. He was a diligent gardener who took great delight in landscaping his home. He was often on the lookout for the perfect lawn ornaments, and he always found quite a few. Two years ago, Rich decided to fulfill his dream of moving south where he retired to South Carolina with his wife Elizabeth. They loved their new home, often exploring the area, trying out local southern restaurants and becoming active members of Crossroads Baptist Church. Rich was happily baptized in the church and enjoyed services and bible lessons. As Rich’s favorite shirts would say, “Life is Good”.
In addition to is loving wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by his two sons Richard M Craver and partner William Doughtery of Cherry Hill, NJ and Kyle D Craver and his wife Bekka of Ewing, NJ, his three stepsons Leon Michael Skwarek of Edinboro, PA, Jeffery Skwarek and his wife Christina of Weddington, NC and Brian Skwarek of New York, New York, his brother Donald Craver and his wife Josephine of Yulee, FL, and his three sisters Linda Lloyd and her husband Robert of Rutherfordton, NC, Lois and Lisa Jolly (a fellow USAF veteran) both of Asheville, NC.
