Regina (Tipton) Barber

          Regina Tipton  Barber of Spartanburg went home to be with her Lord  on July 4, 2020.  She was the wife of Calvin Barber and the daughter of the late Gene and Yvonne Sheehan Tipton.

          In addition to her husband she is survived by a son Stephen Barber and his wife Kristin; three brothers: Stephen (Teresa), Rick (Liz), and Paul Tipton; two grandchildren, Anna and Luke Barber.

          Mrs. Barber  received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Converse College, teaching at Z.L. Madden, Cleveland, and Park Hills Elementary Schools until she retired.  Her cooking during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were a mainstay at family get-togethers.  Family meant everything to Regina and she was affectionately called “Nana” by her grandchildren.

          Graveside services, with social distancing being followed, will be 11:00 am, Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Whitney Community Cemetery officiated by Rev. Daniel Blackwell.
