Ray Price

Ray Price, 86, husband of Eunice J. Price, passed away peacefully at home, October 4, 2023, surrounded by his family.   He was the son of the late James C. Price and Edna S. Lindsey Price.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Brenda Caldwell; grandsons, Eugene and Michael Caldwell; a granddaughter, Harley Caldwell; a great-grandson, Maddox Lee; a brother, Bobby Price (Faye); and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sister, Margaret Bishop (John); and brothers, James Price (Sue) and Arlen Price (Minnie).

Ray graduated from Pacolet High School, attended Spartanburg Technical College and studied Business Economics through Correspondence School at Cornel University.   He retired from Community Cash in Management after 42 years.  He also worked 10 years at Spartanburg General Hospital ER Dept.  Ray served in the SC National Guard for 9 years achieving rank of Staff Sergeant.  He also worked 4 years at Ingles and 22 years at Bobo Funeral Chapel.

Ray was a member of Glendale Baptist Church and had served as Deacon, Sunday School Director, Training Union Director, Music Director, and Church Photographer.  He was a member of the Glendale Fire Dept. (Capt.), Glendale Masonic Lodge, Hejaz Shrine, Scottish Rites, Hejaz Shrine Brass Band (saxophone), an original member of the Sparkletone Band, and a Professional Photographer.  He had served as volunteer of Spartanburg County E.M.S. and American Red Cross Disaster Team.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 10, at Glendale Baptist Church.  The  service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Blackwell and Rev. Larry Holland officiating.  Services will include full Firefighter Honors.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
