Priscilla Bukowski Obituary

Priscilla Eileen (Carney) Bukowski, age 95, of Boiling Springs, SC passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2025.

Eileen truly embodied the adage of a faith-filled life well-lived and one that can best be epitomized by the following: Family and friends, caring, creative and fun. In her almost 96 years on earth, she took care of and experienced an abundance of each.

Family and Friends: She cherished nothing more than her beloved family. She was a devout Christian. A proud 7th generation Daughter of the American Revolution, she enjoying sharing her Butler genealogy with others. She was a self-proclaimed tomboy at heart and grew up playing every sport imaginable with her siblings including roller skating, her favorite. Her fondest memories were hanging out with her many cousins, going to 5cent Saturday cowboy matinees as a kid, and making time for her annual class and family reunions in Pennsylvania well into her 90’s.

In addition to raising her family, her most cherished moments in her amazingly long life were entertaining friends with the utmost hospitality. She was always up for a party, a game night, or a day fishing or crabbing on the water.

After retiring, she traveled the world with her loving husband Joe including such destinations as Europe, Asia, South America, Australia and Alaska just to name a few and split her time between their two homes in Delaware and Florida, always hosting Sunday family dinners.

Caring: Nursing was her calling and after completing nursing school, she worked and cared for others, her entire life, both personally and in both hospitals and institutions. She always knew just when someone needed a kind word, a helping hand, or a home cooked meal. While she never would admit it, her daily plan was to make sure others were comfortable, well taken care of and had a smile on their face. Most would agree that she far exceeded that plan.

Creative: While she always loved crafting, midway through life, she learned to paint and even taught classes. She won ribbons for her work but most loved gifting her paintings to others. Her memory will forever be cherished through her creative endeavors.

Fun: Her sense of humor was 2nd to none, and her laugh was contagious! Her favorite past time later in life was playing bingo but God forbid, you yelled BINGO before her! Always having a good comeback line, even two days before her passing, “Mom, stay out of trouble, OK?” Her response was, “Well that’s no fun!”

Born December 10, 1929 in Blairsville, Pennsylvania to the late Arthur T. Carney and Margreta Butler Carney, she is survived by her children, Kathy L. Morris, Robert B. Spory (Felicia) and David L. Spory (Kimberly); grandchildren, Amanda Smith (Sean), Chad Morris (Jennifer), Stacey Spory, Tiffany Morris and Brian Spory; great grandchildren, Jacob, Brayden, Graham, Reece and Mia; Sister-in-law’s, Barbara Dupont, Donna Carney and Rosemary Hoster; Brother-in-law, John Bukowski; daughter-in-law, Karen Bukowski and many, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband’s Joseph Bukowski and Robert Spory; brothers, Lloyd, Joseph, Robert, David and Raymond Carney; daughter-in-law, Anita Spory; and son-in-law’s, John (Jodi) Morris and Joseph Bukowski III.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the care and thoughtfulness to Agape of Boiling Springs, especially Kim and Carole, the nurses, Darlene, CNA, and all of the people in the background that assisted and watched out 24 hours a day. We cannot forget the outstanding contribution from our cousin, and mom’s niece, Kim Homol, who traveled on a moment’s notice to help with her care when most needed. She stayed for weeks, looking after mom, and her selfless deeds will never be forgotten. Finally, to mom and Kathy’s dear friends, Dean and Leslie Ordway, whose kindness and thoughtfulness over the past 6 years are beyond words. To you all, Thank you!
