Peggy Tennyson Mitchell

Peggy Tennyson Mitchell, 70, was with her loving husband as she went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday December 17, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Pattie Jeffries Tennyson, and the wife of Robert Dan Mitchell.

Peggy was a faithful member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church where she served as a youth leader, in the food pantry ministry, and in the choir where she could express her love to sing. She loved her pets and animals, especially the blue birds that would return to her yard and nest in her houses each year. She would track each bird as they returned, nested and laid their eggs.

In addition to her loving husband Dan, she is survived by her son, Jae Emory; a brother-in-law Everett Scruggs; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Fred Tennyson and a sister Faye Scruggs.  

A memorial service will be 2:00pm, Sunday December 21, 2025, at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. David Rodriguez and Rev. Eddie Phelps.
