Paul "Donnie" Ward Sr.

Spartanburg, SC: Paul “Donnie” Ward Sr., 86, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022. He was the husband of the late Joyce Ward and the son of the late James Robert and Elsie Coates Ward.

Donnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired colonel with the S.C. State Guard, and a long time dedicated member of Glendale Baptist Church. He was employed as a Tax Accountant. Donnie was actively involved in the preservation of the Glendale Bridge and the Glendale Community Cemetery. He was a loving and devoted Father and Grandfather.

He is survived by daughters, Carmen Ward Wickizer (Kemp), Lydia Ward Jewell and Cynthia Ward Millard (Doug); a sister, Nettie Wilkins; grandchildren, Holly Gail, Kemp IV, Brandy, Charlie, Christy, Madison, Colby, Mabry, Emily, Adam and Chloe; and ten great grandchildren.

Donnie is predeceased by a son, Paul Donnie Ward Jr.; brothers, Buddy Ward, Jack Ward, Ronnie Ward and Ken Ward; and sisters, Frances Ward, Madge Welker, Jean O’Grady and Judy Lee.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Bobo Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Glendale Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. The service will be conducted by Rev. Daniel Blackwell. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
