Norma Jean Toney, 55, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026. Born on February 17, 1971, she lived a life centered on love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.
Norma was a woman who found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She cherished time spent with those she loved most—especially her family, who were the heart of her world. Her grandchild, Motley Reid “Peanut” Toney, held a particularly special place in her heart. Norma adored her chihuahuas, enjoyed spontaneous trips to the mountains and the beach, and could often be found listening to her favorite country and Christian music. She had a playful spirit and a deep appreciation for humor, especially goofy, lighthearted dad jokes. Weekend adventures with her dear friend Kitty and Sunday dinners and cookouts surrounded by family were among her greatest joys.
She is survived by her loving husband, Sammy Lee Henderson; her father, Jerry Morris Toney Sr.; her brother, Jerry Morris Toney Jr.; her sons, Scott Alexander Toney, Stephan Travis Toney, and Justin Nickolas Toney; her nephews, Christopher Paul Toney (Faith), Joshua Shane Toney, and Samuel Zachary Toney; and her grandchildren, Christopher Aiden Toney, Dexter Reid Toney, Conner James Toney, Teagan Skye Toney, and Motley Reid “Peanut” Toney.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Jean Toney, and her grandson, Spencer Myles Toney.
Norma will be remembered for her warm heart, her laughter, and the deep love she gave so freely to those around her. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.
