Mendel Lee Ramsey

Mendel “Lee” Ramsey, 69, passed away on October 9, 2022 at his residence. He was the husband of Lynn McAbee Ramsey and the son of the late Mary Hopper Ramsey Seals and Mendel Ramsey.

Lee was retired from Nestle after 30 years as a maintenance supervisor and worked part time for the Gaffney Board of Public Works as a lake warden. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Lee was also a member of the Army National Guard.

He is survived by a son, Ernest Ramsey; daughter, Scarlet Ramsey; step-son, Colt Broome; a sister, Pat Ramsey Wells; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lee is predeceased by two sisters, Beverly Mizell and Bonita Townsend.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Clara Kirby, Amber and Tekella from Kindred Hospice.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church at 3:00 PM. The service will be conducted by Rev. Terry Duvall.
