Mary M. Brackins, 89, passed away on April 14th, 2026. She was the wife of the late Lester Brackins and the daughter of the late Boyce and Lillian West McArthur.
She was a 1954 graduate of Roebuck High School and worked for many years as a seamstress in the textile industry. A lifelong member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, she loved singing, especially in the church choir. She also enjoyed traveling, working puzzles like crosswords and sudoku, and spending time appreciating birds and flowers.
Mary is survived by daughters, Malissa Zimmerman (Josh) of Converse and Loretta Brunson (Micah) of Belton; her son, James Brackins (Roanita) of Roebuck; her grandchildren, Jessica Huffman (Todd), Jacob Graham (April), Chelsea Graham (Dale), Mary-Catherine Brunson and Amber Ivey; and her great grandchildren, Ricky Lee Shrewsberry, Kelsie Owensby, Chance Huffman and R.J. Graham.
She was predeceased by a sister Wilma Crowe.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, conducted by Rev. Richard Dickens. Burial will be at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to her caregivers—Patty Finley, Deana Raines, Peggy Coker, and the staff of Gentiva Hospice—for the compassion and care they provided.
