Martha Merle Linder Gault

Cowpens: Martha Merle Linder Gault transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 2, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Webb and Mary Ellen Linder.

Granny Merle, as she was affectionately called by everyone, is survived by her children, Ralph A. (Rusty) Humphries and Melissa James. Also surviving her are: Grandson: Ralph A. (Bud) Humphries and his wife Sydney and their children Oakley and Sage. Granddaughter: Savanna James, and Merle’s siblings: Priscilla Terry (Latta), Rebecca Rhodes (Ralph), James (Butch) Linder, Judy Frady (John), Gladys Tug Rogers (Barry) and Kim Durham (Rick), many nieces and nephews and Bud’s mother, Jan Humphries.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph Humphries, her son, Jeff Humphries and his daughter, Jamie and her second husband, Otis Gault.

Merle was a member of Central Baptist Church, retired from Timken, and an avid Braves fan.

The family will be at the home of Savanna James.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bobo Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Central Baptist Church. Burial will be at Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens. Rev. Latta Terry and Dr. Jason Metcalf will be conducting the service.
