Lowell Lee Peterson

Lowell Lee Peterson of Cowpens entered his Heavenly Home on September 4, 2024. He was the son of the late Gordon Lee and Avonell Stepp Peterson and the son-in-law of the late Dewey and Lottie Smith. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Kelly Michelle Peterson.

He is survived by Jackie Smith Peterson; and three stepdaughters, Buffie Hayes and family, Jenny Taylor and family, and Chrissy Webber and family; and his granddaughter, Casey Brown and family.

He was a graduate of Cowpens High School and Spartanburg Tech. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was a talented saxophonist and played in several bands in the Spartanburg and Greenville area, as well as worked as a studio session musician. After marrying and having a family, he worked as an Independent Truck Driver and Owner/Operator of Peterson Grading & Clearing.

Lee is survived by brothers, Carl Peterson (Dot) and Ronnie Peterson, both of Cowpens; sisters, Linda Peterson and Rhonda Walker of Cowpens, and Susie Headman (Rod) of Spartanburg; and sister-in-law, Susan Peterson.

He was predeceased by brothers, Carroll Peterson, Hobert Peterson, Dwight Peterson; an infant sister, Rebecca Peterson; brother-in-law, Thomas Walker; nephews, Chaunce Edwards, Tyler Walker; and niece, Shannon Headman.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Bobo Funeral Chapel from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The service will follow at Bobo Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jackie Caldwell will be conducting the service. Burial will be at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.
