Joyce Faye Thornton

Spartanburg, SC:  Joyce Faye Thornton, 71, went to be with her Lord Thursday February 28, 2019. A native of Spartanburg she was the wife of Jimmie Thornton and the daughter of the late Dewitt and Lois Brown.

Mrs. Thornton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. They were her whole world.

In addition to her husband she is survived by daughters, Angela Blackwell and husband Ricky of Inman, Melissa Thornton of Spartanburg, Kimberly Black and husband Brien of Snowflake, AZ., and Haley Scruggs of Cowpens; sisters Judy Rollins and husband Mike of Spartanburg, Joanne Evans and husband Larry of Cowpens, Gayle Erwin of Cowpens, and Amelia Thornton and husband Horace of Cowpens; brothers Ronald Brown and wife Linda of TN, David Brown of Spartanburg, and Wayne Brown and wife Jane of Spartanburg. She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Wayne Thornton and a brother Robert Brown.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
