John Pinkney Garner III

John Pinkney Garner III, of Cowpens, SC passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Greenville Memorial Hospital from a sudden illness.  “JP” to friends and family, was predeceased by his parents, John P. Garner, Jr. and Betty Garner and his sister Sheryl Garner Hopper.  Surviving is his partner of 27 years, Michael Waugh, of Charlotte, NC, nephew “Trey” Hopper and niece Caroline Hopper.

JP was a man who could always strike up a conversation, brighten someone’s day and loved animals.  He loved entertainment Wrestling, sci-fi shows and movies, and looking at vehicles that he would enjoy having, a shared interest with his father John.  

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the American Stroke Association.
