John Hoffman Coleman, III (Jack) passed away peacefully in his home at Spartanburg, SC, on April 10, 2025.
Jack was born on October 24, 1956 to the late John Hoffman Coleman, II, and the late Rosemary Buhrman Coleman in St. Louis, Missouri.
The family moved to Spartanburg in the early nineteen seventies. Jack graduated from Spartanburg High School and earned a certificate in welding from the Spartanburg Community College. Welding became his career of choice and he retired from Polydeck Screen Corporation in early 2022.
Jack was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and could be found riding his Harley on nice days. He also enjoyed running and hiking.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marcia Coleman; two sisters, Carol A. Mueller of Jefferson City, Missouri and Kathlyn E. Coleman of Chepachet, Rhode Island; four step-children, Mark Gorham, Jamie Gorham, Alex Gorham and James R. Gorham; and seven step-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, John Hoffman Coleman, IV (Jackson) and a step-granddaughter, Roselyn D. Rowland.
Jack was a loving son, husband, father, son-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and great-uncle. He will be forever in our hearts, dearly missed and always remembered.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
