Jess Robert “Bobby” Olgesby
Jess Robert “Bobby” Oglesby, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Born in Cowpens, SC, he was the son of the late Jess James and Edith Turner Oglesby.
Bobby was a veteran of the United States Air Force and of the Baptist faith. His greatest joys were playing his steel guitar, watching Kellen and Kayden play baseball, and holding Marley Kay and Cashton.
He is survived by a sister Janice Whittle (Doug); a brother-in-law Gene Quinn; four nieces, April Bryant (Kevin), Laura Poole (Nick), Tosha Gardner (Adam), and Shannon Smith (Kevin); a step-daughter Gina Jones (Mark); a step-son Chris Polson (Renee); several step-grandchildren and numerous great nephews and a great niece. He was predeceased by a sister Evelyn Quinn; a step-son Charles Polson; and two great nephews Camden Bryant and Lucas Poole.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to his nurse and caregivers, Carrie, Charlene and Becky, for all the love and care they gave Bobby and his family.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, at 1:00pm at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, Cowpens, SC with Rev. Shane Belue officiating.
