Jefferson Austin Obituary

Jefferson Trawick Austin, 57, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2026.

Jefferson was a man of unwavering faith who loved the Lord above all else. He was deeply devoted to his family, fiercely loyal to those he loved, and known for his incredible strength, generous heart, and contagious smile. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His sense of humor could brighten any room, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jefferson spent his career as a truck driver, working for Custom Forest Products and later ProPak. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic.

When he wasn't working, Jefferson enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Jefferson was also a devoted Baltimore Ravens fan and loved cheering on his team. Above all, he treasured time with his family, who meant everything to him. His faithful dog, Digger, and beloved guinea pigs, Donnie and JD, also brought him great joy.

Jefferson was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Trawick Austin; his father, James Franklin Austin; and his brother, Christopher Austin.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Deanna Austin; his stepson, Mervin Jones; his brother, Eric Austin and sister-in-law, JoAnne Austin; his sister, Kimberley Austin; his niece, Zoey Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his love, loyalty, and friendship.

Jefferson will be remembered as a great husband, brother, uncle, friend, coworker, and above all, a great human being. His faith, strength, compassion, unwavering devotion to his family, and willingness to always be there for others defined the life he lived. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
