Spartanburg, SC:  Janice Thoroughman, 87, passed away at her home Friday, October 16, 2020. Born February 22, 1933 in Spartanburg, SC she was the daughter of the late Ben Franklin and Ruth Pearson Long.

Janice was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Converse College. She served as a substitute teacher for Dekalb County School District, Atlanta, GA and for Spartanburg County Schools.

Janice is survived by a daughter Dorothy Lynn Hagan of Boulder CO, and her special sweetheart Howard Smith of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a son James Chanslor Thoroughman III.
