James Joseph Scott

James Joseph Scott, 90, of Cowpens, SC passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023. Born in Century FL, he was the son of the late Abrey and Frances Sanders Scott and was the husband of Jean Haught Scott. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Scott served in the National Guard for 13 years.

Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife are one daughter, Sylvia (Randy) Pruitt; five sons, Richard (Karin) Scott, Joseph Andrew (Jennifer) Scott, Jamie (Kim) Scott, Charles Scott, and Jason Scott; 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Frances Scott Broadway; one sister-in-law, Bonnie (Bill) Thomas; one brother-in-law, Carl "Butch" (Donna) Waugh; and 3 former daughter-in-law's. In addition to his parents, Mr. Scott was preceded in death by one son, James Michael Scott; one granddaughter, Amy Lynn Pirtle; two great grandsons, Hayden Wesley Melton, and Julian Lee Nickels; four brothers, Walter Bryant Scott, Charles Scott, Alvin Ernest Scott, and Paul Landon Scott; and his first wife, Emily Robinson.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time.
