James Barnette Obituary

James Joseph Barnette

Born October1,1995- June 1,2021

James went home to his Heavenly Father on June1 in the comfort of his own bed while sleeping.

He left behind his Daddy Baby- Jimmy D. Barnette and his Moma- Marquita Porter Barnette;  Nana- Sandra Praytor Barnette;  Nana Baby- Rebecca Parton Porter;  PaPa & Granny- Butch & Wanda Sprouse; Aunt Laura Barnette Jones ( Jasmine & Madison Kate );  Aunt Katherine Porter Blackwell  ( Bobby & Bailey ); Uncle Anthony Jones; a Special Friend of the family, Dennis Gault; and  numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins;  and his remarkable number of Brothers and Sisters- you know who you are!

James had a heart full of love for everyone he met. It didn't matter if you liked him or if you were mean to him, he loved you! He loved God, family and friends with a love beyond understanding. He was unimaginable to people at times because of his Autism and his meds not working right, but he was always so sorry when he realized what he had done.  He had a joy that was contagious.  He never met a stranger and if he did, you weren't a stranger for long.

He loved playing baseball with The Carolina Miracle League! He was a hard hitter and could hit it out of the park! His name there was "Hollywood"! And he Loved it! He was a member of the "SonShine Club" and "See Ya" where he was able to really be himself and be with his peers!

James touched so many hearts and lives in his short 25 years it is unbelievable!

James walked around our Clifton neighborhood block and knew everyone by name. He had friends on golf carts who when they called his name would come back around and stop, because that was their thing and he absolutely loved it!

He was The Boss of the Dish Room at Drayton Mills Elementary School. He loved his job, his co-workers and the students. He took pride in his job and looked forward to it every day! He was making his "lettuce" as he called it! And we were very proud of him for taking responsibility like that!

James had many, many friends, but as they all grew older and moved on they left him behind. James never understood that and no matter how you tried to explain it to him, it hurt him so deeply and so badly. But he would never let anyone know except the ones closest to him. No matter how badly he was hurt by you, if he saw you out and about he still loved you when he saw you! You see, James never, ever one time held a grudge against anyone for anything! He just loved beyond understanding!

If you are reading about our precious James please remember him and memorialize him in your future treatment of others.  Let his love for you, shine through you and to each other!

James’ most favorite things in his spare time were music and people! He knew the song, lyrics and singer of every kind of music. And if he heard it and liked it he was going to know it!

James was Our Miracle Baby! He will forever be in our hearts, minds and soul And never be forgotten! He was and is Our Pride and Joy!

There will never ever be another James Joseph Barnette because when God made him He broke the mold!!
