Ingrid Jeanne Tillotson Leger

Ingrid Jeanne Tillotson Leger, 80, of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on November 8, 2024, while surrounded by her family. Ingrid was born July 1, 1944, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the daughter of Zack Cole Tillotson and Anne LeMaster Tillotson. 

Ingrid graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1962, before receiving a degree from Cecil’s Business School. She married Bobby Leger on August 17, 1978, in Spartanburg, where they lived for 46 years together in the Cannons Campground Community, a place she cherished since she was a little girl visiting her grandmother.

Ingrid worked in computer programming and customer service at Milliken, Firestone, and Zima Corporation before retiring in 2001. She was a lover of animals, from dogs and cats to birds and possums, and spent much of her free time with her pets and in her garden. She spent many hours tending to her flowers, bushes, and trees, as well as taking care of and decorating her home. Ingrid also enjoyed travel, and would frequently go on trips around the country in her motor home. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with those close to her, from her family to her many dear friends.

Ingrid was an active member of Cannons United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was a part of the Lydia Circle, and planned events, such as Pairs and Spares. She was also a part of the Town and Country Garden Club where she served in various offices over the years. Remaining to cherish Ingrid’s memory are her husband, Bobby Leger; children, Amy Mims and Barry (Shae) Leger; grandchildren Andrea Mims and Maggie Leger; and brother Eric Tillotson. Visitation will be held November 12, 2024, at 3 PM at Cannons United Methodist Church, followed by a memorial service at 4 PM officiated by Miriam Mick. Memorial donations in Ingrid’s name may be directed to Cannons United Methodist.
