Herman Donald Bishop, Sr.

Spartanburg, SC:  Herman Donald Bishop, Sr., 88, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Born July 8, 1932, he was the husband of the late Blanche D. Bishop, and the son of the late Rufus Odell and Alice Mae McKinney Bishop.

Herman was employed with Spartan Mills for 42 years upon his retirement. He was a long time member of Skylyn United Methodist Church and was a current member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. He was also known as a basketball referee and baseball umpire on both the high school and collegiate level.

He is survived by a daughter Margaret Bishop; a son Herman D. Bishop, Jr. “Donnie” and wife Sheila; and a granddaughter Olivia Bishop. He was predeceased by four brothers, George Bishop, Edgar Bishop, Cecil Bishop and Joe Dean Bishop; and a sister Gladys Bishop.

Visitation will be 3:00pm - 3:45pm, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Bobo Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 4:00pm at Sunset Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Rex Keaton.
