Herbert Edward (Eddie) Simmons, 63, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on September 9, 2021.

Eddie was born in Spartanburg to Herbert Edward and Nellie Marie Bright Simmons on December 10, 1957. He was married to Lynn Stephens Simmons for 24 years. He graduated from Dorman High School and Spartanburg Community College.  He worked for W N Kirkland, previously owned Simmons Plumbing, and previously worked for Spartanburg County.  

Eddie was the epitome of a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Eddie was a loyal friend to many. He loved all things Gamecock. He leaves a legacy of love and living life to the fullest.

Eddie is preceded in death by his father and mother Herbert and Nellie Simmons. Eddie is survived by his wife Lynn Stephens Simmons, stepson Matthew Ligon (Savannah), grandson Grayson Ligon, sisters Teresa Thompson (Ronnie) and Barbara Bryan, nephews and nieces Corey Thompson (Brianna), Ryan Thompson (Hannah), Justin Wyatt (Sally), Lindsay Arthur (Phil), Connor Wyatt (Carmen), Michael Bryan (Elizabeth), and great nephews and nieces.

A memorial service for Eddie will be 3:00pm Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Fairforest Baptist Church.

Eddie’s death was unexpected, and the family is understandably shocked by this loss. If you knew Eddie, you know how much he touched the lives of those around him. It is now our turn to give back and help Lynn and Grayson as they deal with this monumental loss.
