Herbert A. Shipman, Jr.

Duncan, SC:  Herbert A. Shipman, Jr., 84, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 24, 1936 in Asheville, NC, he was the husband of Ruth Weir Shipman and the son of the late Herbert, Sr. and Audrey Shipman.

Mr. Shipman enjoyed golf and photography. His love for photography led him to work at one time as a photographer for the Asheville Citizen and Times. He was a lovingly and devoted husband, having been married to his loving wife Ruth for 51 years, father, and grandfather. He also served in the US Army Reserves.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by their son Chuck Shipman and wife Gail; two grandsons Nik Hall and Zack Hall. He was predeceased by two sisters Norvelle Judd and Carol Johnston.
