Harold Dean Overcash

Spartanburg, SC:  Harold Dean Overcash, 83, passed away Wednesday December 23, 2020. Born May 22, 1937 he was the husband of the late Elizabeth “Libby” Overcash, the father of the late Bruce Dean Overcash, and the son of the late J.A. and Della Mae Overcash.

He was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, prayer group leader, and choir member. He was known by all as a powerful prayer warrior. He also played the guitar and wrote music, publishing two songs.

He is survived by a daughter-in-law Lauri Overcash; two grandsons Bruce Weatherly and Zachary Weatherly; a sister Elsie Belcher; and a dear friend and fellow prayer partner Lewis Gregory. He was predeceased by a brother Jason Overcash, Jr.

The family will receive friends 10:00am – 11:00am, Monday December 28, 2020 at Zion Hill Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am officiated by Rev. Keith Davis. Interment will be a Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
