Gordon Carl Peterson, 83, passed away on October 31, 2025. He was the son of the late Gordon Lee and Avonell Stepp Peterson and the husband of Doris Belue Peterson.
Carl was the oldest of eight children and a guiding presence in the lives of his siblings and family.
He was the proud owner of a grading and landscaping business, where he worked tirelessly for many years. Known for his mechanical skill and determination, he could repair anything—from trucks to heavy equipment. He loved nature, animals, farming and working with his hands. Carl found peace in the outdoors and joy in a hard day’s work.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Gordon James (Jimmy) Peterson and wife, Deborah, and Brian Dale Peterson; his brother, Ronnie Peterson; sisters, Rhonda Walker, Linda Jewell, and Janice (Susie) Headman and husband, Rodney; and sister-in-law, Susan Laramore Peterson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will always cherish his memory.
He was predeceased by his brothers, James Carrol Peterson, Hobert Peterson, and Lee Peterson; brother-in-law, Tom Walker; nephews, Tyler Walker and Chaunce Edwards; and niece, Shannon Headman. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Sidney Leroy Belue and Ora Pace Belue.
Carl will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, gentle humor, and deep love for family. His hands built a life full of care and his heart left a legacy of love that will live on in all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Bobo Funeral Chapel from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Jackie Caldwell. Burial will be at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.
