Elsie Overcash Belcher

Elsie Belcher, 92, of Wellford, SC, passed away January 6, 2026. Born October 8,1933, she was the wife of the late John “Earl” Belcher and the daughter of the late J.A. and Della Mae Overcash. Having no children, she was also predeceased by her two brothers, Jason Overcash Jr. and Harold Dean Overcash.

She was a faithful member of Tucapau Baptist Church where she served her Lord and Savior in many different capacities. Singing in the choir, visiting the homebound, teaching and serving on various committees were just some of the ways in which she was an active Christian.

The blessings she gave as she served were matched by the blessings she received. The biggest being a circle of lady friends that are known affectionately as the "Golden Girls." These ladies were the sisters that she never had growing up.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 13,2026 at Tucapau Baptist Church located at 4 Chestnut Street, Startex, SC 29377. Viewing the body will be from 12:00 - 1:00 with the service following, officiated by Rev, Kirk Bodem. Interment will be at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Tucapau Baptist Church, or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
