Dora Emory (Hembree), 78, passed away on July 2, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Jay T. Emory and Elma L. (Whitaker) Emory.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. Dora enjoyed spending time with family, dancing, singing to music, being outdoors and fishing. She also loved sightseeing during the fall in crisp, cool mountain air. Some of her favorite past times were spent on holidays, being surrounded by her family. She loved to style hair and found joy in making people feel beautiful.
Dora is survived by her daughters, Roni Xan Blackwell (Rocky) and Lisa Stewart (Jerry); her son, Ronald Crocker Jr.; grandchildren, Ashton Crocker (Blake Tharpe), Aiden Crocker (Josephina Sanchez), Herby Cox (Jennifer), Courtney Lake (Chris), Amber Blackwell, Timmy Stewart, Chris Stewart, Holly Jolley (Michael), Sherry Holt (Scott); great-grandchildren, Bryson Cox, Madison Cox, Kerstin Cox, Colby Cox, Mason Cox, Jaxon Cox, Aria Cox, Crystal Hutchins (Auston), Savanna Byrum, Kaden Lake, Amden Horne, Astrid Horne, Pauline Stewart, Christopher Stewart Jr., Destiny Stewart, AvaLee Stewart, Makenzie Jolley, Natalie Jolley and Aaron Holt.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Barry Hembree, Joe Hembree and Ronald Hembree; and her sisters, Janice Deaton, Peggy King and Becky Humphries.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 at East Spartanburg Wesleyan Church from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A celebration of life will follow at East Spartanburg Wesleyan Church on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 6:00 PM. Phillip Martin will be conducting the service.
