“How do I describe her? I can’t. Don’t know enough words to reiterate the awesomeness of my mama. Headstrong, fierce, unwavering, loyal. But soft, compassionate, nonjudgemental, loving, precious. She was and forever will be my beacon for home. Always right there ready to receive us all as we were, with open arms and half-dimpled smile. She’s my mom, what else needs to be said? The pillar that held the roof up. Without Christina Gray-Clark, we would have crumbled. She will forever be missed, never forgotten.”

-Katelyn

“How do I say goodbye to someone who is a part of me? I won’t. I know you will be there no matter what, just like you’ve always been. You led me with patience and understanding, shaping the person I am today. It’s been amazing watching you grow yourself while growing me.

The young woman who held emotional fire, who could own a room in seconds, and who could condense and simplify the most profound thoughts for me to learn—she grew to be extremely kind, caring, soft-spoken, and held an unbelievable amount of faith in the people around her. From teaching me how to not cause chaos, to teaching her grandson how to cause chaos.

I know we all have our regrets. Mine would be time I didn’t spend with you. Moments that I could’ve had with you that I missed. I’ll never forgive myself for that. I’ll have to take that as another lesson from the greatest teacher.

You took care of everybody. You held the family together. When you should have given up on us, you didn’t. I will never forget that.

But most importantly, I’ll never forget the composure. Always seemingly unperturbed and thoughtful. The world could be falling apart, and you would be strong for us.

So I will be strong for you.”
