Cheryl Thompson Gossett
Cheryl Thompson Gossett, 76, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, July 11, 2024. Born December 13, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara Boling Thompson, and she was the wife of William “Billy” Reid Gossett, Sr.
Mrs. Gossett was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Cecil’s Business college and worked for C&S Bank and Bank of America as a bank teller for 25 years. She was a faithful member of Cannons Campground United Methodist Church where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by two sons Reid Gossett and wife Tracy, and John Lee Gossett and wife Joy; a daughter Joy Gossett Roberts and husband Albo; grandchildren Jacob Roberts, Hannah Roberts, Cameron Gossett, Tori Gossett, John Lee Gossett, Jr., Vince Gossett, Camp Gossett, Hank Gossett, Sally Gossett and Wade Gossett; a brother Robbie Thompson and wife Leneice; and a brother and sister-in-law Barry and Rhonda Hamrick.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at While Oak Estates, Terra Bella and the hospice nurses for their loving care.
Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00am, Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Cannons Campground United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am officiated by Rev. Miriam Mick, Dr. Craig Thompson and Rev. David Ervin. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth of Cannons Campground United Methodist Church, 3450 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
