Charles Wayne Poteat

Charles Wayne Poteat, 69, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 3, 2024 with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Wanda Hammett Poteat, the love of his life. Born January 23, 1955, he was the son of the late Charles and Guynell Smith Poteat. 

Wayne was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was especially fond of his many grandchildren whom he loved with his whole heart. He attended Zion Hill Baptist Church together with his wife Wanda. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters Kimmie Poteat (Mark), Wendy Wooten (David); son David Jones (Kelley); brothers Keith (Myra) and Gerald Poteat; sisters Karen, Kathleen, Glennis Poteat and Cheryl Tebalt (Michael). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren on the way. He was predeceased by brother Ronald Poteat.

A celebration of life will be 1:00pm Saturday, November 9, 2024 at White Oak Estates, 400 Webber Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
