Betty Carrouth Garrett

Betty Carrouth Garrett, 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, December 28, 2025. Born October 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Eula Evans Carrouth, and the loving wife of the late William Earl Garrett.

Betty was retired from commercial banking, and she was a faithful Christian and member of Fairforest Church of God where she served as church treasurer for more than thirty years.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family will miss her, yet they take great comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord in heaven.

She is survived by two sons, Steve Garrett and his wife Deirdra, and David Garrett; a daughter Cheryl Thornburg; grandchildren Amy Lookabill and her husband Jeremy, Robert Garrett and his wife Cathia, Gregory Garrett and his husband Jeremy; Kelly Brown and her husband Charles, and Amber Garrett; ten great-grandchildren; a brother Fred Carrouth; and a sister Wilma Dempsey. She was predeceased by a brother Andrew Boyd Carrouth.

Visitation will be 12:00pm – 1:00pm, Monday January 5, 2026, at Bobo Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. John Petty III. A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
