Barbara "Bobbi" R. Powell

Barbara R. “Bobbi” Powell, 86, passed away on January 23, 2023. Born January 29, 1936, she was the wife of the late S.N. “Butch” Powell and the daughter of the late Woodrow and Marie Ridings.

Bobbi graduated from Spartanburg High School and was a member of Boiling Springs Eastern Star. She formed the Red Hat Group in Boiling Springs and loved to shop and go to Myrtle Beach. Bobbi was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of Valley Falls First Baptist and Northbrook Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons, Nelson and Heath Powell; a brother, W.D. “Buddy” Ridings; two sisters, Claudette McKinney and Beverly Cooke; a grandson who was the light of her life, Nolan H. Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobbi is predeceased by a brother, W.T. “Little Butch” Ridings.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Bobbi’s caregivers and a special friend, Marc, for their special love, support and patience to Bobbi and her family.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Bobo Funeral Chapel from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Bobo Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm. Rev. Benny Green will be conducting the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
