Anthony D. Costa, Jr passed away on September 8, 2025, at the Hospice House in Landrum, SC, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Anthony Costa and the late Anne (Shilling) Costa.
Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, he was a lifelong resident of the state until his retirement in 2023, when he moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina. There, he embraced the warmer weather and dedicated more time to his passion for riding his Harley Davidson. An avid rider, he attended many rallies over the years and especially enjoyed exploring new places throughout South Carolina, where he was able to ride nearly year-round.
He was a member of Harley Davidson #5240 Spartanburg, SC.
Anthony is survived by his wife Helen (Santos) Costa; his son, Anthony E. Costa and wife, Alli; his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Souza and husband, Fred Souza; his brother Richard Costa and wife, Rosalie Costa; his grandchildren, Colton and Hadley Costa; several nieces and nephews, along with their spouses and children; many friends both in Massachusetts and Spartanburg, SC; and his beloved dog, Mouse.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of Spartanburg Medical Center and to Hospice Home in Landrum, SC, for the compassionate care and comfort they provided during his final days. A special thank-you is also extended to Bobo Funeral Chapel in Spartanburg, SC, for their compassion in handling Tony’s arrangements.
Services will be announced at a later date.
