Thomas Shawley

SPARTANBURG, SC:   Thomas “Tinker” Greel Shawley, 59, passed away May 24, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional. He was the son of the late Thomas Shawley and Karen Jean Mabry Thomason.

Mr. Shawley was formerly employed with Benson Nissan in the Parts Dept. and was a member of East Spartanburg Wesleyan Church.  He was a former avid skater, music fanatic, enjoyed the outdoors and being in the sun, and PBS TV shows were his favorite.  He was also a member of the Clifton Improvement Association (CIA).

He is survived by his son, Joshua T. Shawley of Pace, FL; brother John Shawley of Wellford; two sisters Suzie S. Knight of Spartanburg and Kathy S. Bridges (Everette) of Clifton; step-father, James H. Thomason;  two nephews; one niece; one grandnephew and three grandnieces.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a step brother, Rodney Thomason.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, at East Spartanburg Wesleyan Church with Dr. Timothy Waldrop officiating.
