Nell Waters Holt

Hendersonville, NC:  Nell Waters Holt, 99, of Hendersonville, NC, formerly of Woodbridge, VA, and Spartanburg, SC, died on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Pardee Hospital.

She was the widow of James Perry Holt, and the daughter of the late Clinton D. Waters and the late Ellen Hughes Waters.

She was a graduate of Georgia State Teachers College and was a long time teacher in Spartanburg County School District 7. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for 60 years where she was an active volunteer.

She is survived by her son, Clinton Holt (Janet) of Hendersonville, NC; three grandchildren, Jennifer Holt Rice (Michael) of Columbia, SC, Christopher Duncan Holt (Dana) of Easley, SC, and James Nolan Holt of Baltimore, MD; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Holt, Drew Holt, Michael Rice, Jr., Charlotte Rice, and Will Holt; sister-in-law, Jean Holt, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 30, 2018 in the Bobo Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ben Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
