James “Chris” McGarity

GAFFNEY, SC:   James Christopher McGarity, 46, passed away October 26, 2017.  He was the son of the late James B. and Shirley Ruth Hicks McGarity. 

Chris was a forklift operator with UPS and a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.  He had many hobbies and interests, never met a stranger and was a kind, caring, unique person who will be greatly missed by many people.

He is survived by grandmother, Ruth Roper Hicks; aunt, Alice Hicks-Ray and husband, Leslie; uncle, Larry J. Hicks; cousins, Kali H. Solomon, Kala H. Burrell, Ashley D. Reynolds, and Kelsey Davis; and second cousins.

Visitation will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 1, at Bobo Funeral Chapel.  Funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Dionne officiating.  Private burial will be at a later date.
